Snippet

The snippet is a brief summary of a publication (page or article) on your site.

The most common use is to display it on the blog page or an archive page, rather than showing the entire content of the publication for all articles on the page. When the snippet is empty, the first few characters of the entire content are typically shown as a substitute.
